Depth gauges

The depth gauge, or the filling level measuring system, measures the filling level of a container. This is done by detecting the remaining available volume in the container. This way you immediately know when a container needs to be emptied. To perform a reliable measurement, it must be taken at at least three different places in the container. Otherwise, waste accumulating in one place can cause a false alarm. The measurement of the current filling level in the container takes place at least 16 times a day in the period from 7AM to 10 PM.

Reliable measurements

This is how the depth gauge works

Newwaste depth gauges contain a sensor that performs a measurement in the container on a maximum of 64 zones (in a checkerboard pattern of 8 x 8 zones). The distance between the sensor and the object for each zone is measured in millimeters.

The measurements take place according to the Time of Flight principle. The sensor emits a wave. The time it takes for this wave to reach the object is measured. An ultrasonic sensor is used that radiates with an adjustable diagonal (the so-called Field of View). The maximum measuring distance is approximately 400 centimeters.
